Biography
Currently, Dr. Bloomfield is a Distinguished University Professor at the Ohio State University (OSU). She is a holder of the William Greenville Pace III Endowed Chair in Cancer Research. She served as Director of the Division of Hematology and Oncology at OSU (1997–2001) and as Director of the OSU Comprehensive Cancer Center (1997-2003). She remains a Senior Advisor to the OSU Cancer Program and is a charter member of the OSU Cancer Scholars Program. Clara D. Bloomfield earned her MD at the University of Chicago and completed training in internal medicine and medical oncology at the University of Minnesota—where she became a full professor in 1980. She has been engaged in over 40 years of ground-breaking research in adult leukemia and lymphoma, resulting in over 1000 publications.
